Aloysia gratissima

Beebrush is a sprawling, fragrant native shrub that earns its name by drawing bees, butterflies, and other pollinators in abundance with its profuse clusters of tiny, intensely sweet-scented white flowers. Blooming from spring through fall with repeat flushes following rainfall, it provides one of the longest flowering seasons of any native shrub in the region. Perfectly suited to the dry, rocky soils of Central and West Texas, it thrives with minimal irrigation and rewards low-maintenance landscapes with outsized ecological value.
