Blue Jack

Quercus incana

Blue Jack is a small to medium native oak distinguished by its narrow, willow-like leaves with a distinctive bluish-green cast on the upper surface and pale, silvery undersides that shimmer in the breeze. Naturally found in the sandy, acidic soils of the South and East Texas piney woods, it is exceptionally well-adapted to poor, dry conditions and thrives in sites where more common oaks will not perform. Its refined, delicate foliage texture and soft coloration make it a quietly elegant addition to naturalistic native plantings.
