Chisos Red Oak

Chisos Red Oak is a striking and relatively rare native oak endemic to the mountains of the Trans-Pecos region of Texas and adjacent Mexico. Its deeply lobed, classic red oak-style leaves emerge with a handsome reddish flush in spring before turning deep green through summer, then delivering a reliable display of warm red and orange tones in fall. Growing 20–35 feet tall with an upright, well-proportioned form, it thrives in rocky, well-drained soils and is one of the most ornamentally rewarding native oaks available for dry landscapes.
