Mexican Red Bud is a refined, moderately fast-growing variety of Eastern Redbud distinguished by its smaller, wavy-edged, glossy leaves and exceptional adaptation to the hot, dry, alkaline conditions of Central Texas and northern Mexico. Each spring, its bare branches become smothered in vivid pink-purple blooms before a single leaf appears, one of the most spectacular seasonal floral displays of any small tree. Growing 12–20 feet tall with an attractive, multi-trunk form, it is an outstanding choice for patios, entries, and small gardens where year-round elegance is desired.
