Amyris texana

Torchwood is a slow-growing, evergreen native shrub of the rocky limestone canyons and brushlands of South and West Texas, where its glossy, aromatic foliage and compact, rounded form make it a quietly distinguished presence in dry, naturalistic plantings. Small clusters of delicate white flowers appear in spring and summer, drawing bees and butterflies in welcome numbers, followed by small dark fruits that ripen in fall and attract birds through the cooler months.
