Texas Grama

Bouteloua rigidiseta

Texas Grama is a compact, clump-forming native bunchgrass well suited to the rocky limestone soils and dry conditions of Central Texas prairies and savannas. Growing just 6 to 18 inches tall, it forms tidy, low-growing tufts of fine green foliage topped with small, comb-like seed spikes that add subtle textural interest from summer through fall. Exceptionally tough and low-maintenance, this resilient grass requires minimal water once established and works beautifully as a groundcover, in rock gardens, or mixed into native lawn alternatives where durability matters more than height.

  • Compact Low-Growing Habit
  • Thrives in Rocky Limestone Soils
  • Excellent Drought Tolerance
